FAQs about Elegant Farewells
Do you have an example of one of your eulogies?
I apologize, as a eulogy is a sensitive and personal tribute, we cannot provide a real example. However, we can offer a sample eulogy to give you an idea of the format and content you can expect from us.
What type of questions do you ask to create the eulogy?
Here are some examples of the questions we ask:
-
Childhood friends
-
Family traditions and customs
-
Where did they attend school, and what did they study?
-
What were some of their major accomplishments or contributions in their profession?
-
Were they recognized or honored for their work in any way?
-
Did they enjoy any sports or physical activities?
-
What were some of their favorite books, movies, or music?
-
When did they get married, and how did they meet their spouse?
-
Did they have any special relationships with particular family members?
What if there is a question that doesn't apply to my loved one or I don't want to provide an answer?
That's fine. It is totally up to you what you include or exclude in the eulogy. If you don't want to answer a question, just leave it blank. We will not use it in the final submission.
How safe is my information?
We take the privacy and security of your information very seriously. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data, and we will not share your loved one's information with anyone, ever! In fact, after 30 days we delete your eulogy from our database. We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of your information and ensuring that it remains safe and secure at all times.
Can I save my submission and come back to it later?
Yes, in fact it is probably a good idea to complete it over time as you may think of items to add as you go about your day. You just have to select the Save for Later button on the bottom of the page you are on and you can log in and finish it at a later time.
How long will it take to receive the completed eulogy?
We promise you will have your eulogy within 24 hours. If, for some unforeseen circumstance, this does not happen, you will get a full refund, a sincere apology and the completed eulogy, as soon as possible.
What do I do once I receive the eulogy?
Because this is such a personal task, what we provide you will probably never be 100% right. So, sit down in a quiet place and go over the eulogy in its entirety. Then go over it again slowly and tweak it to your liking. You might think of something extra to add or you many want to remove some items.
General FAQs
What is a eulogy, and why is it important to give one?
A eulogy is a speech given at a funeral or memorial service that pays tribute to the life and accomplishments of the deceased. It is an opportunity for loved ones to express their feelings and memories, share stories, and celebrate the person's life. Eulogies can help provide closure and comfort to the bereaved, and can also serve as a way of preserving the memory of the deceased.
How do I start writing a eulogy?
The best way to start writing a eulogy is to gather your thoughts and memories of the deceased. You can think about their accomplishments, their personality, their relationships, and their impact on the world around them. It can also be helpful to talk to other family members or friends who knew the person well and ask for their input. Once you have a collection of memories and stories, you can begin organizing them into a cohesive narrative that captures the essence of the person's life.
How long should a eulogy be?
There is no set length for a eulogy, but most eulogies are between three and five minutes long. However, it's important to remember that the length of the eulogy is less important than the quality of the content. It's better to have a shorter eulogy that is heartfelt and meaningful than a longer one that rambles or feels disconnected.
What are some tips for delivering a eulogy?
Some tips for delivering a eulogy include practicing beforehand, speaking slowly and clearly, using anecdotes and stories to illustrate your points, and focusing on positive memories and experiences. It's also important to remember that it's okay to show emotion and that the audience will be understanding and supportive.
Can I use humor in a eulogy?
Yes, using humor in a eulogy can be a great way to celebrate the deceased's life and personality. However, it's important to be sensitive and avoid jokes that could be seen as inappropriate or insensitive. Humor should be used in moderation and should always be respectful of the deceased and their loved ones.
